Ode to a love past
O Enigmatic beauty!
My beloved in mine heart,
Beady eyes, dark, inpenetrable.
You are distant, far; your love:
Unbelonging, infinitely hurt.
To heal your fear
I would give
To renew your passion
I would live
Chained, bound by mutual submission;
I am yours and you are mine.
Unfortunate it is that
I would be so powerless
For all my zealous fervor,
I've been damned for failure.
To suffer such I've found-
to be indistinguishable from death.
To die while alive-
is to be reborn.
Our end is my beginning.
My day haunted,
And my night possessed-
by ghosts of a love past.
